How much does telehealth cost and how long are the sessions?

At EmbdyHealth Physiotherapy, initial consultations last 40 minutes and are priced at $60. Follow-up consultations are 15 minutes long and cost $40. These rates are affordable because we operate online, therefore, we do not have the associated costs of running a physical practice, allowing us to pass on savings to our patients.

That means we can give you Exceptional Physiotherapy, Unmatched Affordability, All from Your Home

    What services do you offer?

At EmbdyHealth, we provide a wide range of services through telehealth. We provide services for muscular pains, back pain, sciatica, work injuries (worker’s compensation), sports injuries, Medicare referrals (EPC’s), muscle strains, joint issues, neurological conditions, inflammatory conditions, tendon injuries, ligament injuries, and any other physio-related injuries you can think of.

Research shows that telehealth physiotherapy is just as effective as traditional in-person sessions. If your needs require in-person care, we’ll refer you accordingly and refund your money promptly.

    What is telehealth physiotherapy?

Telehealth physiotherapy at EmbdyHealth is an online video-based form of physio.

For most conditions, telehealth physiotherapy works the same as in-person physiotherapy, only this time you’re at home and using your computer or phone to video call with your therapist. Your therapist will take a thorough history and then complete a number of assessments to determine what your diagnosis is. You will be then given advice, education, and treatment from your physiotherapist.

Telehealth physiotherapy is research-backed. It has been shown to be just as effective as in-person physio.

What are the benefits of telehealth physiotherapy?

Telehealth physiotherapy at EmbdyHealth comes with many great benefits:

Affordable: Telehealth physiotherapy doesn’t come with the associated costs of running a physical practice, therefore, we can pass these savings onto you.

Time Saving: With telehealth physio you get to ditch the commute, and you don’t have to worry about parking either. This gives you the time to spend with your family, or do anything else that you would rather be doing.

Effective Research Backed: Telehealth physio has been shown to be effective at treating the majority of injuries that are seen by a physiotherapist.

What is the difference between telehealth and in-person physiotherapy?

While the main difference is that you’ll connect with your physio via video on your device, the assessment process starts the same. You’ll discuss your pain and injury history. The physical assessment portion of telehealth differs from in-person physio, with telehealth, your EmbdyHealth physio will guide you through specific movements to identify the cause of your pain.

Treatment includes advice, education, and exercise, similar to in-person sessions, but without manual techniques like massage. Research shows that these methods are just as effective as in-person physiotherapy.

My Dr gave me an enhanced primary care (EPC) plan with 5 visits, can I use that here?

Yes, you can definitely use your EPC plan here.

At EmbdyHealth we think that physiotherapy should be a necessity, not a luxury. That is why we do not charge a gap on top of your rebate from your GP, we want you to get the most out of your physiotherapy without having to worry about how to pay for it.

All you have to do is upload your forms from the Dr to your client portal, or send them to your physio and they will sort that out for you.

Payments

How do I pay for my Telehealth session?

Payment for your session is easy and straightforward. After your session, your physio will talk you through the process of payment, generally this will be paid by card. During follow up sessions, if you book online you will pay upfront before your appointment. Don’t worry, you will always get a full refund if you can’t make it to your appointment and cancel more than 24hrs in advance.

After you consultation your physio will send you your invoice. If you have private health insurance, you can submit this invoice to your insurer through their app or website to claim a rebate. It’s a simple process that varies slightly depending on your insurer but is usually hassle-free.
